the "Light of the world."

John 3:17-21" For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world throught him might be saved. He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not belived in the name of only begoten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather then the light, because their deeds where evil. For every one that dose evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved."

In this by light John is refering to Jesus, and ,of corse, the evil and dead in sin person dose not want anything to do with Jesus Christ.
