Jehovah's witnesses

1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

This verse is basic and right to the point, but the Jehovah's witnesses have a hard time with this verse, because they don't believe in the Trinity. Jehovah's witnesses say and I Quote.

"The plain truth is that this is another of satan's attempts to keep God-fearing persons from learning the truth of Jehovah and his son, Christ Jesus. No there is no Trinity."

The first reason the Jehovah's witnesses don't believe in the Trinity is, the word Trinity is not used by Jesus or the disciples, this doesn't mean the idea is false. (if it did, the Jehovah's witnesses would have to abandon a few other terms such as "theocracy.")

The real test is is the word Trinity defines or describes is in accord with the Bible. The word Trinity is composed of two Latin words, tri (three) and unus (one) and means three-in-one or tri-unity.

Second, the truth or falsity of the Trinity doesn't depend on whether it is understandable. There are many things that we do not comprehend, this dose not make the Trinity false, the truth or falsity of the Trinity depends on what the Bible sets forth.

third, Jehovah's witnesses degrade the doctrine of the Trinity simply because pagan religions had trinitarian deities. Even if this is true, is this a sufficient reason to reject the Trinity? If so, we should reject prayer, worship and a lot of other things, because pagans pray, worship, etc.

  1. Hi James,

The problem is not man's understanding of G-d, but man's need to put labels on things. True...trinity is a label that doesn't describe G-d and people get excited when you add things to the Word of G-d. The Bible clearly says that the Lord our G-d is one.

With that said, we should stop using words like trinity to describe G-d. Using words like trinity and saying it describes a concept within the Word of G-d limits G-d. Don't you think?

I leave you with this. How do we all know that G-d is limited to just three persons, when the Word of G-d says that G-d is unlimited?

  2. First of all, the trinity dose describe God, God is as the verse puts it 1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Second, yes I agree with you the Bible clearly says that the Lord our God is one. with the "Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

lastly, God is not limited, but he is three in one. Are you a Jehovas witness?

  3. First of all, both G-d and I appreciate your faithfulness. Your bio says that you are thirteen. Again, it is pleasing to witness your committment to G-d and his Word. However, my friend, please don't be a typical Christian.

Y'shua said that he was going to send someone to lead you into all truth.

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come." John 16:13

Do you believe that? I hope so.

I hope you also believe that we are to use the scriptures as our guide.

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

Therefore, I pray that you will not fall victim to tradition rather than clinging on the Word of G-d.

With that said. I will not argue with you but show you the truth and allow your wrestling to be with G-ds Holy Spirit.

Please read your verse again but with the full testamony of G-ds Holy Spirit.

1Jn 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
1Jn 5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Please notice that there are at least six aspects of our Lord and G-d, not three. Are we now going to teach that G-d is a six-fold G-d. No, because G-d is much more.

Again, my aim here is not to belabor the point but to get you to break free of tradition and cling on to the full counsel of G-d.

By the way, I am a Jew who believes in Y'shua, the Messiah.

    Shalom Aleichem,

    ND

  4. Yeas I do belive that the Holy Spirit is all the Christains comforter, and the one that leads us to all truths.

The Bible is our basic instuction before leaving earth.

But I still belive in a tri-un God he is three in one, this is just a word that descibe God not God Him self.

Do you live in Isreal? I belive in Y'shua (jesus Christ), the Messiah also.
