Eph 2:9 not from works, so that no one can boast.
These two verse completely tare down Jehovah's Witnesses, saying that "For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift-- not from works, so that no one can boast." If you ask a Jehovah's Witnesses are we saved by grace? they will say yeas, but what they mean is after all we can do. So you can tell that they are wrong, seeing that they go against scripture. Apparently you have been mislead. Jehovah's Witnesses do NOT believe they are saved by works! Rom 6:23 states: "the GIFT God gives is everlasting life."
ReplyDeleteWe absolutely know that there is NOTHING we can DO to EARN salvation. However, we also know that "faith without works is dead." (James 2:17,20,24.26) Yes, we ARE saved by grace, but just as Paul said, "necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe is me if I did not declare the good news." (1 Cor 9:16)
I am guessing the real issue that you are addressing here is our well-known worldwide witnessing work. Yes, ALL of Jehovah's witnesses take Jesus' command at Matthew 28:19,20 seriously, and do this "work" as often as they are able. We do this NOT to earn salvation or praise or any kind of reward from God or man, but because we want to 1) obey Jesus (John 3:36), 2) please our heavenly Father and provide an answer to Satan's accusations (Prov 27:11), and 3) show love to our neighbors by sharing the truths we've been taught (not selfishly keeping these all to ourselves).
I am sorry you so misunderstand our intentions. Perhaps if you try to speak to more witnesses and not just go by hearsay (or apostate websites), you will have more accurate knowledge of our beliefs.

she is 100% correct. You need to start forming your own arguments by thinking for yourself and researching. You could apply her excellent advice to the subject of evolution also.

ReplyDeleteTell me what Jesus has done for you? What specifically has He set you free from? What sinful bondages? Healing, miracles? I'm interested in your list.
There is a great difference in doing good works for God than allowing yourself to be 'dead' and Christ alive in and through you.
An empty vessel (Christians)in which He works through and accomplishes His intended work in spite of us. Becausse we empty ourselves of our self and are filled with His spirit.It's not 'us doing anything', but Him doing it through us.
It's His work. His deal and for His glory.
By the way, The way of the Master is an excellent tool for research and it also lines up with the Word of God.

Page one in the bible utilized with faith is the best response, argument,proof for evolution. It will give you the evidence your looking for. God is the Creator. So take my advice, find out for yourself...exercise some faith and ask Jesus.
I encourage both of you to research the Way of the Master there is a lot of information that could revolutionize your entire lives. Answers for ther topics of evolution and the Jehovah's Witnesses.

BTW...why do witnesses have to fill out paperwork with names and addresses of people they go witness to and then turn that information into headquaters? Is that some kind of proof or record of their "faith works"? Just curious.
